Meet Winston Cole
Why, I choose to live the writer’s life?
A summer holiday found me home with lots of time. I would sit on the front porch bench with a book in hand and gaze as the human stream flows by my house. Tired of seeing my routine, a gentle soul dared to call me out. He advised me to get a life, he sympathized with my boring nothing to do life. It was then I realized how much fun I squeezed out. Lazily sitting, no worries and sending my mind to far away places, glancing at many pages, and enjoying the play back.
Fast forward 50 years, Rameses my grandson, full of imagination, plays well. At times, by himself and sometimes invites us to join playing hide and seek. This game demands quick and resourceful ways to act. It shook me up when Super Ram suggested where I should hide so he could return to find me. As for me, the thrill of the game is the reveal. My writing is more so a game of hide and seek.
I reveal what I have scraped through moments of introspection or pilfered from others during my ‘me alone’ time. I spend a hefty portion of my earnings on books and training. Recently a quick flash hit me. What is stopping me? I can also bear fruits and return some of my distill products for those who care. I am sure many exist, who have summer days and overstuffed chairs nowadays to pass the day. A few may watch the human stream and now and then raise a hand to say “bro, I like your thoughts expressed”.
Please permit me to contribute and vote with a token for its well-spoken. Before my sunset, I hope by then to hide a few treasures for Super Ram and his kin to dig up and thank grand pa. I am also extending this to you too, dear reader.
Meet Melvina Fredson-Cole
Hello, I’m Melvina and like Winston, I have a deep love for reading and writing. Growing up, I immersed myself in books, exploring genres that ranged from the thrilling novels of Robert Ludlum and Frederick Forsythe to the romance of Mills & Boon and classics like Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights.
As I moved into adulthood, my passion for reading grew, expanding to include personal development books and the Bible. These works not only shaped my worldview but also inspired my desire to write. Over the years, I jotted down countless titles and frameworks for books I hoped to write “someday.” In 2022, I took a leap of faith and published my first book, From Knowledge to Experience, a reflection on moving beyond simply knowing about God to living in relationship with Him.
Together Winston and I have experienced life’s highs and lows in marriage, personal growth, business, and careers. Through this journey, we’ve committed to leaving a legacy - not only for our family but for anyone who wants to walk alongside us.
Our weekly encouragement and development letter is part of this mission. We hope it becomes a valuable tool for your 2025 goals and beyond. Plus, as a subscriber, you’ll be the first to hear about our upcoming books and other ventures.
